Follow our trip to France

We're going to Paris, France in May 2010.  This is to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.  I'll try to post pictures and comments about what we've seen, eaten, and just sat in awe.

Hurricane Ike

Although we were spared the full hurricane, Sara and Peter won't be. Our thoughts are with them and this powerful storm. They have boarded their home also, and have plenty of supplies. The Houston city has told them that there won't be a storm surge but they will get around 83 mph winds. We just spoke with Ivan and his family in Louisiana, and they are already getting the outer bands of rain and wind. The schools have closed because they lost power, so Ivan had to leave work and pick Dameion up. So we're all anxious to have Hurricane season end. Keep all of us in your prayers for human safety and homes too.

• I worked on cleaning the garage. Miracle to be able to walk around without tripping over everything.

Ivan, Aletha, Dameion, Travis, Levi, Lana, and Shawn, and Aletha's friend Karen all returned to Church Point, LA today. They found their properties with downed trees, shingles off their roof, downed electric poles, no electricity, and were advised to boil the water. They are all thankful that their homes didn't receive any damage, and we were thankful they came here to our home in Corpus Christi to be safe.
